چکیده

Latent Class and Profile Models are widely used in psychological assessment settings, especially when individual differences suspected to be related unobserved class memberships, such as different personality types. This paper provides an easy-to-follow introduction application of the methodology data collected part more extensive educational research investigating social-emotional competency profiles preservice teachers (n=184) who responded Emotional Awareness Questionnaire. Suspected that there would two or latent emotional awareness sub-groups sample, a series profile models was estimated. The results suggested three distinct profiles; namely, introverted, extroverted, less sensitive others' emotions, with proportions 9%, 56%, 35%, respectively. Subsequent analyses showed higher levels emotionality, sociability, well-being were likely extroverted profile. findings suggest nearly half sample could expected possess most professionally desirable teacher Nonetheless, it noted if timely diagnostic tailored training intervention programs available, at least some profiles, introverted helped self-observe way which they tend identify regulate their emotions.

Integrating person-centered and variable-centered analyses: growth mixture modeling with latent trajectory classes.

BACKGROUND Many alcohol research questions require methods that take a person-centered approach because the interest is in finding heterogeneous groups of individuals, such as those who are susceptible to alcohol dependence and those who are not. A person-centered focus also is useful with longitudinal data to represent heterogeneity in developmental trajectories. In alcohol, drug, and mental h...

Using Latent Variable- and Person-Centered Approaches to Examine the Role of Psychopathic Traits in Sex Offenders.

The current study employed both latent variable- and person-centered approaches to examine psychopathic traits in a large sample of sex offenders (N = 958). The offenders, who had committed a range of sexual crimes, had been assessed with the Psychopathy Checklist-Revised (PCL-R; Hare, 2003). Structural equation modeling results indicated that the four-factor model of psychopathy (Hare, 2003; N...
